York is situated midway between Edinburgh and London, just 20 minutes from the M1/M62 motorway network; York is within comfortable travelling times of most regions in the UK.

Park And Ride
The following additional services from the City Centre to the ASKHAM BAR Park and Ride site (service 3 White Line) on 26 – 29 October:

The nearest stop to the event at the Minster will be at Rougier Street where passengers can alight and board.
The service from Askham Bar operates every 10 minutes throughout the day until 1900, then every 15 minutes until 2000.

The train station is situated just south of the river, on the west side of the city, and is regularly served by train providers in the north. There are both taxi ranks and bus stops directly outside the station, and the station itself is only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of town. Getting to York by train is easy and great value too. York train station is 5 minutes’ walk from the city centre and trains run frequently to Manchester (2 ½ hours), Newcastle (1 hour), Leeds (30 minutes), Edinburgh (2½ hours), Sheffield (1 ½ hours) and London (2 hours). Both National Express and Megabus run regular coach services to and from York. The National Express services pick up and drop off from just outside the train station on Station Road, with the Megabus stop only a few moments’ walk away on Leeman Road.
